Sally Krysztal
The solo exhibition, Je Te Vois, expands the artist's interest in representations of self portrait and the relationship between the artist and the audience, the viewer and viewed, yet turns to more minimalist and reserved avenues than she had in the past. The exhibition features sculptures and video works in which Krysztal breaks apart her reflection until it almost disappears without a trace. Her image is smashed into pieces, fading into the walls of the space, and plays tricks with the experience of walking through it. Alternately veiled and unveiled, the artist weaves literary references, biographical details and intra-artistic quotes into a poetic installation that deals with dedication, generosity and alienation.
